Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the questions we're asked most often about compression socks, knee braces, elbow sleeves, and our other support products. Can't find what you're looking for? Get in touch and we're happy to help.

Compression Socks

How long should I wear compression socks each day?

Most customers wear them for the duration of the activity they're supporting — a flight, a work shift, or a run — rather than all day, every day. If you're new to graduated compression, start with a few hours and build up as your legs and calves adjust to the fit.

Can I sleep in compression socks?

Our socks are designed for daytime wear during activity, travel, or standing, when circulation and blood flow benefit most from support. If a healthcare professional has advised overnight compression for a specific reason, follow their guidance rather than general product advice.

What does 15-20 mmHg mean?

It's the graduated compression level — firmest at the ankle and gradually easing as it moves up the calf, which is the mechanism that helps support healthy blood flow back up the leg. This ankle-to-calf gradient is considered a moderate, everyday level of support suitable for travel, standing, and general activity.

Do compression socks help with tired, swollen legs or varicose veins?

Many customers find graduated compression helps their legs feel more supported and comfortable during long flights, shifts on their feet, or after exercise — including those managing everyday swelling, tired calves, or visible varicose veins. If you have a diagnosed circulatory condition, speak to your GP or pharmacist about whether compression wear is appropriate for you.

What's the difference between copper-infused and standard compression socks?

Copper-infused socks have copper woven into the yarn, which some customers prefer for its odour-resistant, breathable feel on long wears. The graduated compression and circulation support work the same way in both.

Should I choose open toe or closed toe?

Open toe avoids a seam pressing across the toes, which some customers with sensitive feet or reduced hand dexterity prefer when putting socks on. Closed toe gives a more standard sock feel with full arch and heel coverage. Both provide the same level of graduated compression.

Knee Braces & Sleeves

What size knee brace or sleeve do I need?

Measure the circumference of your thigh 10cm above your knee joint (for our gel pad and hinged braces) and check this against our Size Guide.

Can I wear a knee brace or sleeve while working out or running?

Yes — our compression sleeves and gel pad braces are designed to move with a full range of motion during sport, running, and exercise, supporting the knee joint without restricting flexion. Our hinged brace adds lateral stability, which some customers prefer for higher-impact or twisting activities.

What's the difference between a compression sleeve, a gel pad brace, and a hinged brace?

A compression sleeve gives even support around the joint with no rigid parts — a good everyday or runner's knee option. A gel pad brace adds cushioning directly around the patella (kneecap) plus light side stabilisers. A hinged brace has metal side supports that resist sideways movement of the knee, typically chosen for more significant concerns such as ACL, meniscus, or ligament instability, often as part of a rehabilitation or physiotherapy plan. See our full comparison guide for more detail.

Elbow Sleeves

What size elbow sleeve should I order?

Measure the circumference of your elbow and forearm at the centre of the joint and check our Size Guide. If you're between sizes, choose the smaller size for firmer compression or the larger size for a lighter feel.

Do elbow sleeves help with tennis elbow or golfer's elbow?

Many customers use our elbow sleeves for everyday comfort and joint support during sport, gym training, or repetitive gripping activities that can strain the forearm tendons. If you have a diagnosed tendon condition, we'd recommend discussing the right level of support with a physiotherapist or GP.

Wrist & Thumb Support

What size wrist support should I get?

Measure the circumference of your wrist and check our Size Guide. If your measurement falls between two sizes, we generally recommend the smaller size for a snugger, more stable fit.

Can I wear wrist support while typing or working?

Yes, it's designed to support the wrist and thumb joint without fully restricting hand movement or dexterity, so many customers with typing strain or repetitive strain find it comfortable through a normal workday.

Bunion Corrector

What size bunion corrector should I choose?

Sizing is based on your usual shoe size — check our Size Guide for the UK/EU conversion. If you have a wider forefoot or wider feet generally, consider ordering a size up.

Sleep Eye Mask

Will the eye mask put pressure on my eyes?

The contoured foam cups are designed to curve away from the eyelids and lashes, so it shouldn't press flat against them — this is designed to make it more comfortable for side sleepers, contact lens wearers, and shift workers adjusting their sleep schedule around daylight.
